Droitwich gynaecologist denies sexual assault of patient

London: A Worcestershire gynaecologist, who is being sued by a female patient over an alleged sexual assault during an examination, has denied trying to start an affair with the woman.

Bibi Giles, 50, brought the civil action against Angus Thomson following a six-month course of treatment for a prolapse at Droitwich Spa Hospital.

She claims she was sexually assaulted and sexually harassed by the 40-year-old medic and wants £50,000 in damages.

At the hearing at Worcester County Court, her barrister Mark Lyne claimed the father-of-three had repeatedly tried to initiate sexual contact with his client over a series of consultations and phone conversations between November 2006 and May 2007.

He said: “You were engaged in a situation where you had sexual contact with Mrs Giles and sexual conversations with her and you were implying and suggesting that things could go further.

“The nature of your conversations with her was such that you were implying there could be something more but you wanted her to make the first move.”

Mr Angus, whose wife Lucy was in court with him, disputed the allegations saying all he had done was try to act professionally and in the best interests of his patient.

He claimed she kept ringing him outside of office hours wanting to have a relationship but he told her he was not interested, becoming increasingly frustrated at the contact.

He said: “I told her I did not want anything to happen because I was happily married and had three children.

“When she called me I checked if she was medically well, I ran through a few things with her and then told her she should stop calling me.

“She was calling me perpetually, when she made these calls there seemed to be no real reason for this.

“I was extremely frustrated at the situation and told her I wanted her to stop.”

Asked why he continued to see Mrs Giles as a patient despite reporting her to doctor’s legal aid group the Medical Defence Union in February, he added: “I felt that she would be gone from my life if I saw her for that last consultation.

“I didn’t believe this would happen, I have never been in this situation before.

“I honestly believed it would stop if I was courteous and dealt with clinical matters.”

Earlier in the hearing Mrs Giles claimed she had two “leg buckling” orgasms during an examination on November 30 by the doctor at the hospital.

She told how she was horrified at what had happened especially as a nurse had been standing just feet away.

Following the examination she said she rang her husband in tears about what happened but had continued use Mr Angus to treat her condition as she didn’t want to have to find a new gynaecologist.

The court also heard how she sent a lewd text message to the doctor saying ‘the new arrival needs christening with Angus beef sausage’ – a reference to her body following the operation.

Mrs Giles said she regretted sending the text message which has just been designed to get Mr Giles to ring her.

The case continues.

Senior teacher, 68, accused of sex assault on young woman

Toronto, 08 Dec 2009: A Toronto man who teaches French at a private Jewish high school has been charged with sexually assaulting a young woman.
The 68-year-old appeared for a bail hearing yesterday at a 1000 Finch Ave. W. court after being charged by Toronto detectives with four sex offences, which allegedly took place between Nov. 26 and Dec. 3.
Det. Brian Wookey, of 32 Division, said the victim was not a student at Bnei Akiva Schools of Toronto, where the suspect taught. He also worked in the Niagara Region.
School spokesman Rabbi Scot Berman said the suspect has been teaching at the school since January 2002.
“He is a good teacher,” Berman said yesterday.
“We have talked to our students and are encouraging anybody with information to come forward.”
Students graded the suspect 4.5 out of six on the RateMyTeachers.com website.
Jaskaransingh “Jask” Ramburn has been charged with sexual assault, sexual interference, sexual exploitation and invitation to sexual touching.

Transsexual prostitute in Italian political sex scandal burns to death

Washington, 20 November 2009: ‘Brenda’, a transsexual prostitute linked to a sex and drugs scandal which brought down the prominent Italian politician Piero Marrazzo, has been found burned to death in her apartment.
Police are investigating what may have started the fire which engulfed the Brazilian prostitute, known only as Brenda.
The blaze broke out in the early hours of Friday morning and fire crews who rushed to the basement flat in Rome found only the charred remains of the sex worker.
Magistrates were treating the death as murder, according to court sources quoted by the Italian media.
“Brenda” was friends with another Brazilian transsexual, known as Natalie, who was filmed allegedly having sex and taking drugs with Piero Marrazzo, the governor of Lazio province, which encompasses Rome and its surrounding region.
The film was secretly recorded and obtained by four police officers who are being investigated for allegedly trying to blackmail Mr Marrazzo.
The centre-Left politician initially denied any involvement in the scandal when it broke last month, but days later was forced to resign after admitting that he had been a client of the prostitutes and took cocaine with them.
“Brenda” testified to investigators in the affair that she had met Mr Marrazzi on two occasions.
A former journalist with the state broadcaster RAI, Mr Marrazzi was elected governor in 2005.
A lawyer for Mr Marrazzo said the death was “really worrying news”.
“We must find out what’s behind it,” said Luca Petrucci.
A third Brazilian transsexual, identifed as “Barbara”, told Corriere della Sera: “She was in a bad way psychologically, she wanted to return to Brazil. The police must found out who did this.”

More charges against dad, sons in child sex case

LEXINGTON, Mo., 17 November 2009: Prosecutors in Missouri have filed 15 additional charges against a father and his sons who are all accused of sexually abusing children.
The additional charges against 77-year-old Burrell Mohler Sr., and his four adult sons include rape, sodomy and use of a child in a sexual performance. The new charges were filed Monday.
All five men are to be arraigned Tuesday on the earlier charges. The men are being held in the Lafayette County jail. It’s not clear if any of them had lawyers. No attorneys were listed on any of the court documents.
No additional charges were filed against the sixth defendant in the case, Darrel Mohler. He is being held on rape charges in Marion County, Fla. It also was not immediately clear whether he had an attorney.

Teacher charged with sexual interference

A teacher at the Waywayseecappo Community School has been charged with two counts of Sexual Interference after a female student reported to the RCMP Waywayseecappo Detachment last month that she had been sexually assaulted.

Following an investigation, 51-year-old Robert Michael Woron was arrested on Oct. 30 and has since been formally charged with two counts of Sexual Interference following allegations on two offences that occurred in October. He was released on a Promise to Appear with Undertaking with several strict conditions, that include among others, to have no contact or communication with the victim or to be in the company of any child under 16 years of age without another adult present.

He is scheduled to appear on Dec. 9 in Waywayseecappo Provincial Court.

The name, age and where the victim is from is not being released to protect her identity.

Rock County Deputy Arrested On Suspicion Of Sexual Assault

JANESVILLE, Wis., 03 Nov 2009: A Rock County sheriff’s deputy was arrested on Monday afternoon in connection with a sexual assault in Milton this weekend.

Steven Stenulson, of Janesville, was taken into custody by officers from the Milton Police Department. Investigators have linked the 38-year-old off-duty deputy to an alleged sexual assault of an 18-year-old woman at a Milton home after a Halloween party on Saturday night.

Rock County Chief Deputy Barb Tillman said Milton police received a report at 2:46 a.m. Sunday of the sexual assault at a party where underage drinkers were present.

Stenulson is on administrative leave from the Rock County Sheriff’s Department. Because of his job, he’s being held in the Dane County Jail, authorities said.

Tillman said in a news release that there will also be an internal investigation, and the sheriff’s office will take all steps necessary to make sure that “justice is served.”

Man found guilty of sexual assault

ST. CHARLES, Ill., 03 Nov 2009: An Elgin man has been found guilty of having sexual contact with two underage boys. Michael Jackson was convicted Monday of two counts of predatory criminal sexual assault and one count of aggravated criminal sexual abuse. Jackson waived his right to a jury trial and had his case heard before Kane County Circuit Judge Timothy Q. Sheldon. According to prosecutors, the 32-year-old Jackson had sexual contact with two boys under 13 years from June 2004 and December 2006. Authorities say Jackson knew the boys. Sheldon set a Dec. 10 sentencing date for Jackson, who is being held in the Kane County Jail.

Man threatens to circulate video of sex with wife

Ahmedabad, 01 Nov 2009: A man fighting a harassment and physical abused case filed by his wife got into further trouble after he showed her brother a video of
the couple’s sex act. The family court hearing the case took notice of a fresh complaint from the victimised woman’s brother and posted the matter for next hearing on November 16.

According to a police complaint filed by Sumit Daga, the brother of victim Shilpa, his sister’s husband Ashok Daga, a resident of Maninagar, started harassing her for dowry a year after their wedding in 2006.

The two had met at a common relative’s wedding in Mumbai in 2005. Shilpa claimed Ashok began harassing her after she came to know of his alleged extra-marital affairs.

On one occasion, he beat her up severely and demanded dowry. Following this, she filed a complaint alleging mental and physical harassment against Askok at Maninagar police station.

Shilpa left her husband’s house for her father’s place and sought maintenance from him.

Senior BBC man in child sex probe

London, 01 Nov 2009: A senior BBC producer has been charged following a police investigation into child sex abuse, it is reported. The London-based employee was arrested as part of Operation Algebra, which led to the uncovering of Scotland’s largest paedophile network earlier this year. Detectives leading the inquiry alerted the Metropolitan Police and the man now faces court. Nearly 125,000 indecent images were seized during Operation Algebra which led to the conviction of eight men in May. Iain Livingstone, Assistant Chief Constable of Lothian and Borders Police, told the Sunday Mail newspaper: “We referred a case involving a serious offender to the Met which involved a senior figure at the BBC. “The individual was in a very senior position and he became apparent to us during Operation Algebra. “We passed that information on and the individual has now been charged and is awaiting court.” A BBC spokeswoman said it would not be appropriate to comment. Charged with Promoting Prostitution in Try for World Series Ducats, Susan Finkelstein Insists She Intended to Pay $$ for Them

Philadelphia, 30 October 2009: The Philadelphia woman charged with offering sex in exchange for tickets to the World Series contends police are swinging and missing.

Susan Finkelstein, a 43-year-old University of Pennsylvania graduate student, says she wanted to take her husband to a game between her beloved Philadelphia Phillies and the New York Yankees.

She says she was simply trying to score tickets online, as she had in the past, so she put an ad in Craigslist. The ad had some apparent double entendres. It described, in part, a “gorgeous, tall, buxom blonde … in desperate need” of the tickets.

“I wanted to get Series tickets I could afford,” she told “Early Show” co-anchor Harry Smith Friday. ” … I work in communications and PR (public relations). … I wanted my ad to stand out” among ones soliciting customers for merchandise … (do) why not make it fun and witty?”

An undercover police officer responded to the ad, and met Finkelstein at a bar in suburban Bensalem, Pa. She says she told him she needed two tickets, one for herself and one for her husband. “I wanted to negotiate prices” for the tickets, she told Smith. ” … I have pretty good negotiating skills.”
