New Delhi, 14 October 2009: NEW DELHI: The Air India pilot and co-pilot who were accused of molesting an air hostess in an incident that led to a mid-air scuffle, were
arrested and later released on bail on Tuesday.

The operations cell of Delhi Police carried out the arrests. ‘‘The two pilots joined the investigations on Tuesday. We interrogated them and arrested them. But the charges against them were bailable and they were let off after they obtained bail from the investigating officer,’’ said Rajan Bhagat, PRO, Delhi police.

Islamabad, 07 Oct 2009: A Pakistani court on Wednesday ordered the police to open a case and investigate former president Pervez Musharraf over allegations that he ordered the murder of an ethnic Baloch leader in 2006.

The High Court in Balochistan made the ruling after a petition was filed by the son of the Baloch leader Akbar Bugti, said the son’s attorney, Habib Jalib.

Shimoga, 05 October 2009: A man took refuge on a tree amid flood waters for over 70 hours in Karnataka’s Raichur district until he was rescued by an Indian Air Force helicopter.

Caught in flash floods, Ramesh Kumar took shelter atop a tree on Sunday, hoping that the waters would recede soon. But the water level kept rising and Kumar soon found himself stranded.

Tel Aviv, 03 oct 2009: Nineteen female Palestinian detainees have been released from an Israeli prison in return for a videotape of a soldier captured by Gaza fighters in June 2006.

A 20th female prisoner will be released, probably next week, the office of Binyamin Netanyahu, the Israeli prime minister, has said.

Al Jazeera’s Nour Odeh, reporting from the occupied West Bank, said those freed on Friday were handed over to the Red Cross after their release from the Hasharon prison.
