Golf mates.. Halloween stab victim and the man charged with his murder

London, 04 Nov 2009: The man stabbed to death in the Halloween double killing poses for a snap during a round of golf with the friend accused of his murder.

Takeaway boss John Moody, 44, standing on the right, appeared in court yesterday charged with killing golfing pal Ken Snell and his girlfriend Karen Brown.

It emerged yesterday that Mr Snell, 65, had forwarded Moody for membership of the Eaton Golf Club which he had joined in 2000.

The retired executive and Ms Brown, 39, were found dead at his bungalow in Cringleford, Norwich, just minutes after one of them called 999 on Saturday night.

SHOCK

In another picture, Moody is also seen with Karen at a cookery class in Norwich in 2005. Police said the three were known to each other.
The flag at the club in Norwich was lowered at half mast yesterday in tribute to divorced dad-of-three Mr Snell, who had worked for mobile phone firm Motorola.

Club boss Peter Johns said of Mr Snell: “He was a well-liked chap, unassuming but he would always speak up if he disagreed with something. We are in shock.”

In court, unshaven Moody appeared confused and had to be helped from the dock. He did not enter a plea and remained silent.

Divorced Moody, who has two sons from his previous marriage, was declared bankrupt in May.

Norwich magistrates remanded him in custody to appear at crown court on November 17.
