Ex-Shrews star arrested after trouble at city bar

Nottingham, 03 oct 2009: Former Shrewsbury Town star Luke Rodgers has been arrested in connection with a violent incident in a bar.

The striker now plays for the club’s League Two rivals Notts County.

He was arrested in Nottingham following an incident at the Tantra bar in the city’s Victoria Street in the early hours of Wednesday.

Tel Aviv, 03 oct 2009: Nineteen female Palestinian detainees have been released from an Israeli prison in return for a videotape of a soldier captured by Gaza fighters in June 2006.

A 20th female prisoner will be released, probably next week, the office of Binyamin Netanyahu, the Israeli prime minister, has said.

Al Jazeera’s Nour Odeh, reporting from the occupied West Bank, said those freed on Friday were handed over to the Red Cross after their release from the Hasharon prison.

Jakartha, 03 oct 2009: Rescuers are continuing to dig through rubbles of collapsed buildings on the Indonesian island of Sumatra, several days after a deadly earthquake struck the region, but officials say hopes of finding survivors alive were rapidly diminishing.

Up to 4,000 people are believed to be trapped under the rubble following Wednesday’s earthquake, the United Nations estimates.

Tauziat’s former coach Regis de Camaret was arrested in 2007 after several players, including Isabelle Demongeot, accused him of sexually assaulting minors between 1977 and 1989, when he ran an academy at Saint Tropez.
